UNFPA Assures Increased Collaboration with NYA

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Representative to Ghana, Dr. Wilfred Ochan, has expressed assurance of collaboration with the National Youth Authority.

Dr. Wilfred Ochan reaffirmed the organization's commitment to strengthening collaboration with the NYA during an engagement between the two institutions to discuss potential collaborations in promoting youth development.

The CEO of NYA, Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq., at the meeting, appreciated the UNFPA for their unwavering support over the years. He presented the strategic and transformative Agenda for the NYA, which focuses on job creation, youth leadership and participation, and the expansion of economic opportunities.

He seized the opportunity to also outline some of the Authority's priority projects, which is in line with the resetting agenda of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, such as the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) and AGRINEXT, amongst others.

In his response, the Country Director commended H.E. John Dramani Mahama for having the youth at heart in his budget and empowering more youth into governance.

He briefed the CEO on the UNFPA's area of work, which aligns with that of NYA, and expressed interest in some of the new projects mentioned by the CEO. "Our doors are open for any kind of support or advice from the NYA," he stated.

He again congratulated the CEO on his new role, wished him well, and expressed his willingness to work with him.

Present at the meeting was the Deputy CEO of Programmes and Operations at the National Youth Authority, Alhaji Inusah Mahama
