NYA encourages young Ghanaians to apply for Commonwealth Youth Awards for excellence

The Commonwealth Youth Programme has launched the Commonwealth Youth Awards for Excellence in Development Work 2022 and is accepting nominations from eligible young persons.

The Commonwealth Youth Awards (CYA) is an annual award which recognises the contributions of young people (aged 15-29) from Commonwealth countries towards development work and impacting the lives of others. Particularly, CYA acknowledges the roles young people across the Commonwealth are taking to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

In celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Head of the Commonwealth, the Commonwealth Youth Awards in collaboration with the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) will deliver a special Awards programme in 2022 where;

1. The Commonwealth Young Person of the Year 2022 will be recognised and awarded a total cash prize of GBP 5, 000.
2. One selected social entrepreneur will receive two years of flexible funding at GBP 20,     000 per year through the Platinum Jubilee Fund programme of the QCT. The National Youth Authority notes, with pride, the strides that several young Ghanaians are making in furtherance of the Sustainable Development Goals. Consequently, the Authority encourages eligible Ghanaians to nominate themselves and other eligible young persons to make optimal use of the special Awards programme. Applications and details on eligibility can be found on the CYA platform at https://commonwealth-youthexcellence.awardsplatform.com/.

The National Youth Authority remains ready to support eligible applicants.
