NYA CEO Cautions Youth on Substance Abuse at Red Means Stop Campaign

The CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga, Esq., has cautioned the youth of Ghana to refrain from using hard drugs, particularly "Red," the latest form of tramadol being abused.

Mr. Ayariga made this statement during the official press launch of the Ghana Against Drugs (GAD) – Red Means Stop campaign, hosted by the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment. The campaign is part of efforts to educate and engage the youth on the risks of opioid drug abuse in the country.

The event aimed to raise awareness, drive policy discussions, and take decisive action against the rampant drug abuse crisis in Ghana.

"This campaign will not just end here at the launch. We will chase you in your homes, churches, mosques, institutions, and markets to educate you on the dangers involved, “he stated.

Mr. Ayariga further called on international agencies and bodies interested in developing responsible youth to get involved in this important campaign.

He congratulated the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon.Opare Addo for taking this bold step in the fight of substance abuse among the youth of Ghana.
