“Awards House” Project Commendable-- AG. CEO of NYA
Acting CEO of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah has said, government deserves praise for recognizing the potentials of young people and their attempts at driving their own personal, community and national development efforts through support over the years, of the Head of State Awards Scheme, an affiliate of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, which is run by some 130 countries worldwide, and chaired by His Highness Prince Edward of the United Kingdom through the construction of a permanent administrative building to aid the operations of the scheme here in Ghana.
“The role of the youth in National development cannot be overemphasized, arguably the wheels of development of all nations rests on the shoulders of how productive, creative and innovative the youthful population is especially during such difficult periods of a global pandemic, and for government led by H.E the President to champion this project which aims at recognizing the achievements and contributions of young people whilst challenging and spurring others on to do same and even excel in diverse areas of endeavors, cannot go unnoticed” Mr. Owusu Ansah intimated.
Coming on the back of some not so pleasant news emanating from the youth front, we as an the Authority believes that this project which is likely to influence and positively touch the lives of numerous Ghanaian youth can only receive endorsement and we fully support it, Mr. Owusu Ansah further stated.
Finally, Mr. Owusu Ansah implored on the Youth to fully avail themselves to exploit the numerous opportunities the scheme offers in order to take full advantage of the programs offered.
