CEO of NYA courts Otumfour's support for the Authority's NYVP...

CEO of the NYA Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide has sought the support of the King of Ashanti, His Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II for the Authority's impending launch and subsequent rollout of one of its flagship programmes; the National Youth Volunteer Programme.

Briefing the Otumfuor on the rationale and expected outcomes of the programme during a courtesy call on him by management of the Authority at his palace at Manhyia on Friday 21st January 2022, Hon. Hadzide said the Programme is expected to recruit and deploy 100,000 young people in the short to medium term to contribute their quota to national development through various modules such as infrastructure development, health and wellbeing, education, environmental protection etc. He said the programme will also contribute to meeting a number of targets set in the SDGs of 2030.

Hon. Hadzide then pleaded and asked Otumfuor to play host and chair the proposed launch.

Otumfuor welcomed the delegation and commended the team for conceiving such a noble and well-meaning initiative. He touched on the many benefits the country stood to gain from the successful implementation of the programme and pledged his full endorsement and support for it.

He said his Secretariat will be working closely with the Authority in the planning of the launch to ensure its success.

Accompanying the CEO on the visit were Mrs. Akosua Manu, DCEO (F/A), Mr. Nelson Owusu Ansah, DCEO (O/P) Mr. George Orwell, Ashanti Regional Director of NYA as well as some Directors and Unit Heads from the Authority's Head-Office.
