Youth Minister Inaugurates NYA Board.

The newly constituted Board of the National Youth Authority (NYA) has been duly inaugurated by the Minister for youth and sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif ( MP) at a short ceremony at the Ministry's conference room on Wednesday October 13, 2021.

In his inaugural address, the Minister noted that according to the provisional report of the 2021 population census, the youth form the majority of Ghana's population and must therefore be seen as an asset that could help transform the economy when well harnessed.

He therefore charged the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority and other members of the Board to provide good counsel to the Ministry of Youth and Sports as far as youth development is concerned.

The Minister again urged the new Board to complete the ten (10) youth and sports resource centres that has been under construction in the then 10 Regions of the country to serve as a platform to unearth and develop more talents for the country.

The Board Chairman, Hon Akwasi Amankwah Afrifa-Mensah in his response expressed the appreciation of the Board to the President and the Minister for resposing cofidence in them and assured to work assiduously to provide a great opportunity for the teeming youth of the country.

The other Board members are, Hon. Pious Enam Hadzide, C.E.O of NYA, Dr. Felix Yaw Addo, NDPC, Mr. Harrison Kwaku Sasu, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Theodora William Anti, Ghana Youth Federation, Mr Dennis Owusu-Appiah Ofosuapea, Ghana Youth Federation, Madam Velda Adobea Atuah Kusi, Ghana Youth Federation, Osei Assibey Antwi, Executive Director( NSS), Mr. Faisal Ibrahim Cisse, Minister's nominee, Denkyira Kwabena, Ministry of Local Government & Rural Development, Mr. Philip Tetteh Pardie, Ministry of Education, Emmanuel K. Fordjour, Ministry of Finance, Esther Appiah Gyamfi (Esq), Organization of Disability, Hajia Kande Ibrahim Adjei, Minister's Nominee.
