Official launch of YouthConnekt Africa Summit 2021
YouthConnekt Africa (YCA) Summit 2021 has been launched through a social media campaign which will be followed by a press briefing on 15 September in Accra at the Ibis Styles Hotel, Airport City, for a limited number of press and senior decision makers from across Africa.
The 2021 edition of the Summit to be held on October 20-22, will be a hybrid event hosted by the Government of Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, implemented by the National Youth Authority in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Since its inception in 2012, YCA Summit provides a high-level platform for youth leaders and development stakeholders to synergize around policies, programs and partnerships. The theme: “Africa Beyond Aid: Positioning the Youth for the Post-Covid Economy and AfCFTA Opportunities.”
YouthConnekt Africa Hub has grown to a network of 23 African countries with long term sponsors and partners including KOICA and the Government of Rwanda. With senior level participation from various UN agencies, African ministers of youth, the private sector and youth-led organisations, the Summit delivers extensive brand sponsorship opportunities for organisations seeking to engage with African youth and youth development segments at scale.
The official Programme includes custom-themed panels, the YCA Awards, creative side events, information on strategic Youth initiatives among other content. With over 12,600 delegates registered in 2019 previous Summits have attracted speakers and partners including Mastercard Foundation, African Development Bank, Johnson Johnson, Rwanda Air, President of Rwanda – Paul Kagame, Jack Ma, Akon and Didier Drogba.
