NYA TRAINS YOUTH IN COMPOSTING TOILET CONSTRUCTION
The National Youth Authority has partnered the Columbian Embassy here in Ghana, to train twenty (20) Young People drawn from some rural communities in the Greater Accra Region to undergo a one week training in the Construction of a Composting Toilet:
This type of toilet is an innovation that does not generate the heat and stench of the ordinary Kumasi Ventilated Improved Pit (KVIP) latrine. It has a unique feature of a garden where the compost generated from the toilet is applied as organic manure.
This will help especially Rural Communities to avoid open defecation and keep clean and sanitation environment while benefiting from the organic manure generated.
