NYA CEO Advocates Youth Engagement in Agriculture to Combat Illegal Mining
The National Youth Authority (NYA) Chief Executive Officer, Arc. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq., has emphasized the importance of engaging young Ghanaians in agriculture to deter them from illegal mining activities that harm the environment. He has advocated for youth participation in farming and green initiatives as sustainable alternatives.
In a recent interview at Woezor TV, Ayariga highlighted his commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs across various sectors. He stated, "One of my aims is building young people and young businesses and entrepreneurs who can develop themselves in whatever skill." He also expressed a particular interest in youth involvement in agriculture, emphasizing their need to establish themselves business-wise in this sector.
Mr. Ayariga further outlined plans to make agriculture more appealing to the younger generation. He emphasized the creation of farm banks and other initiatives aimed at attracting youth to the agricultural sector, aligning with the NYA's broader strategy to foster sustainable development and self-sufficiency among Ghana's youth
