Kanekalon, a Japanese quality synthetic fiber hair and cosmetic products, in collaboration with the National Youth Authority ( NYA) in the Ashanti region last week Thursday organized a capacity building training for about 300 young and budding entrepreneurs who operate within the styling and cosmetics industry across the greater Kumasi area.
The kanekalon products are varieties of popular Japanese quality fibre for classy and glamorous women, designed to solve the problems of hair dryness, scalp itchiness and smell in hair. Participants were taken through personal branding processes how to become familiar with products they use in the business and the use of social media as an effective tool in branding.
Madam Marian Mansa Minnah, the Eastern Regional Director of NYA,
who took the participants through personal branding as a tool for career development, explained branding as what differentiate one hair dresser or stylist from another.
She mentioned the stylist personal appearance, self-esteem, customer care skills and even the surroundings of the work place as some of the examples of good or bad branding.
The Ashanti Regional Director of the NYA, Mr. George Orwell Amponsah, in a remark disclosed that his outfit is committed to getting as many young
people in the region and introduce them to life changing and economically viable intervention that can improve their livelihood. He said a similar capacity building program for organizations in the hair styling industry was held some time ago and added that this was a new form of training that would equip every participant with modern skills, strategies and how to use advanced hair products to enhance a leading edge in styling business.
