NYA's vision is in line with resetting agenda - NYA CEO to UN System

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq., has revealed that the Authority's vision, which focuses on concerns of youth employment, the promotion of leadership, and the fostering of economic transformation, is in line with the resetting agenda of H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

Mr. Ayariga revealed this during his presentation at a meeting between the NYA and a delegation from the UN System to explore collaborations on boosting youth development and empowerment.

In his presentation, Mr. Ayariga also listed the Authority's priority projects, which include the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) and the National Youth Peace and Security Programme, emphasizing the need for collaborations, as these initiatives will go a long way in equipping the youth with opportunities.

Adding to this, the Deputy CEO in charge of Programmes and Operations, Alhaji Inusah Mahama, noted that though the government has allocated an amount of GHS 300 million to the NYA to kickstart the Apprenticeship Programme, the Authority still looks up to the UN System for further support and partnership to tackle unemployment-related issues among the youth of Ghana.

On his part, the Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr. Jacob Adongo Atule, also suggested to the delegation to factor in youth with disabilities in their plans by assisting the NYA in providing opportunities for young people in such conditions.

In response, the leader of the delegation from the UN System, Mrs. Gifty Tetteh acknowledged the presentations and submissions made by the CEO and his deputies.

They briefed the NYA on their areas of work and pledged their support, especially in the area of Youth Peace and Security.

"On behalf of our Country Director, we want to congratulate you on your appointment and wish you well in this role," she concluded
