NYA set to strengthen ties with GIZ
CEO of the National Youth Authority Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga Esq. yesterday 27th February, 2025, received a delegation from the Deutsche Gasellschaft fur International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) a German international development agency.
The engagement principally aimed to strengthen ties between the two institutions on many fronts but more importantly in the area of youth development and empowerment.
Mr. Ayariga, in welcoming the team outlined some of the Authority's priority projects in line with the resetting agenda of H.E John Dramani Mahama such as the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP), AGRINEXT, Youth Parliament, the National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security amongst others.
On their part, the Componence Manager to the KAIPTC, Miss Teresa Kraft also made a presentation on the ECOWAS Peace, Security and Governance workplan as well as the GIZ Ghana Project and emphasized on the need for greater collaboration to assure the outlined objectives in both plans.
DCEO of the Authority, Alhaji Inusah Mahama asked for GIZ's support in the completion of the Authority's Youth Resource Centres dotted across the country which he stated would go a long way to keep the youth engaged ultimately enhancing Peace and Security. "The devil finds work for idle hands" he added.
Alhaji Mahama explained that 2 out of the 10 resource centres have been commissioned and the Authority is looking forward to complete the remaining 8 and even considering constructing same in the 6 new regions.
Mr. Abdulai Ayariga expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the GIZ team for it's enduring support over the years and said he looked forward to further strengthening the bond between the NYA and GIZ.
